Amid the energy of Miami Music Week and the Winter Music Conference, DJ Mike Marquez of Next Dance Radio caught up with rising pop-dance artist Audrey at the iconic Eden Roc Hotel in South Beach. Fresh off her main stage performance, Audrey joined us in Radio Village—surrounded by the top names in dance radio—for a lively conversation about her music, her inspiration, and what’s next on her journey. With her single “Where the Boys Are” climbing the Top 40 charts and new music on the way, Audrey is a name to watch.
Mike Marquez: Check, check… looking good. You got it? I just have to say—I love your sunglasses. They’d go perfectly with my outfit.
Audriix: (Laughs) I smell a barter coming on here.
Mike Marquez: We can learn from each other! I give you the access, and the sunglasses come to me!
Audriix: Exactly!
Mike Marquez:
All right, let’s jump into it. DJ Mike Marquez here at the Winter Music Conference, part of Miami Music Week. We’re live from the Eden Roc Hotel in South Beach—and I am privileged to be joined by…
Audriix: Hi!
Mike Marquez: I could launch into a long intro about who you are and what you’ve been working on—but let’s get right into it. You literally just performed on the main stage ten minutes ago. How are you feeling?
Audriix: I’m feeling great! It was so much fun. One of the songs I performed isn’t even out yet, so getting to premiere that for the first time was really exciting. I also played a few of my released tracks. It was an incredible experience.
Mike Marquez: For anyone listening who doesn’t know what’s going on here, we’re in what’s called Radio Village—basically a pop-up headquarters of all the major electronic and dance radio stations in the country. You just performed in front of everyone. No pressure, right? What was going through your mind?
Audriix: I was just excited. I mean, performing is my passion. To be on stage is fun in itself, but to do it in front of so many radio pros—it was just such a blessing. I’m really grateful.
Mike Marquez: Let’s talk about that passion. How did this all start for you? How did you end up here, performing on the main stage at Miami Music Week?
Audriix: Great question! I’ve been working on my music for years and years. My radio guy, John Sorachi from Total Smash, has been amazing. He’s the one who helped connect me to this opportunity. I’m just so thankful to be here.
Mike Marquez: Okay, let’s talk about your new single. What’s it called, and what inspired it?
Audriix: The current single is “Where the Boys Are,” and it’s been doing really well—it’s number 36 on Top 40 radio right now! I draw all of my songs from personal experiences. This one explores the tension between temptation and restraint. I wanted it to be a fun, upbeat, poppy summer anthem—and that’s exactly what it became.
Mike Marquez: Mission accomplished. It’s light, uplifting, airy—it just feels good. And it was so fun to watch you perform it live.
Mike Marquez: So what’s next for you? Summer’s right around the corner…
Audriix: Yes! I actually have a new song called “Dot” dropping a week from tomorrow. But the one I’m really excited about is called “Free Fall”. I closed my set with it today. I wrote it with Kevin Rudolf—who also worked on “Where the Boys Are.” That’s probably going to be my next pop single, coming later this summer.
Mike Marquez: We’ll be keeping an ear out! So if someone wants to follow you, stream the music, stalk your tour dates—where should they go?
Audriix: Just look me up—Audriiix. That’s A-U-D-R-I-I-X (with a silent “X”). You can find me on any social media platform or streaming service.
Mike Marquez: Perfect. Audrey, thank you so much. You were amazing.
